About TDA

Independent Aeronautical Engineering

TDA provides airworthiness engineering and fleet decision tools for mission-critical aircraft. Since 1997, we’ve helped defense and government teams make safer, more confident decisions about aircraft life, readiness, and risk.

What We Do

Our team supports the broader aircraft life cycle with expertise in loads and strength development and analysis, flight test support, certification activities, finite element analysis, and structural integrity engineering.

We analyze:

  • How aircraft are actually flown
  • Life-limited components
and configurations
  • High-volume usage and fatigue data

So fleets can:

  • Stay safer
  • Extend service life
  • Plan maintenance with confidence

Our differentiation is analytical depth and engineering rigor. Visualization and reporting tools enhance our delivery, but engineering authority is the foundation.

Our Foundation

TDA was formed to support the U.S. Navy’s Air Vehicle Engineering Structures Division at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in Patuxent River, Maryland.

From the beginning, our focus has been on structural integrity, fatigue-life assessment, and life-cycle oversight based on
actual usage, not design assumptions.

That foundation continues to guide our approach today.

Our Mission

To provide innovative, high-quality, customized engineering and software solutions in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost for mission-critical
aviation programs.

Our Experience

TDA is led by experienced engineers who remain closely connected to the work.

Our engineers have supported leading commercial and government aviation programs with expertise in:

  • Aircraft structural design and analysis
  • Loads development
  • Finite element modeling
  • Fatigue and fracture mechanics
  • Crack initiation and growth modeling
  • Remaining life prediction
  • Fleet inspection interval development
  • Risk and probability-of-failure modeling

Our team averages more than 20 years of industry experience, and nearly half hold advanced degrees in engineering or computer science.

Why Programs Choose TDA

TDA works in the same technical problem spaces as OEMs and large integrators, but with a different structure and philosophy. Reasons U.S. Defense and federal aviation programs trust us include:

  • Independent aircraft life-cycle assessment
  • Direct access to senior engineers
  • Faster turnaround and responsiveness
  • Deep specialization in loads, fatigue, and fleet tracking
  • Long-term continuity on airworthiness-critical programs

Engineering and Software–Aligned

The work doesn’t stop at analysis.

TDA integrates advanced loads and fatigue engineering with purpose-built software platforms that support life-cycle visibility, configuration tracking, and decision clarity.

A Culture Built Around Rigor and Accountability

Disciplined. Technical. Mission-focused.

We value deep expertise, long-term customer trust, and people who take pride in doing the work the right way.

Locations

TDA operates across Maryland and Georgia, supported by a distributed team in additional locations including Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
